First Time Attendee Tips

Attendee Tips

Whether you’re new to WasteExpo or have attended before, it always helps to plan ahead and prepare for your time spent in New Orleans. We’ve put together the following list of tips to help you get the most value out of your WasteExpo 2017 experience.

Getting Started:

Register Early and Save - Registration for WasteExpo 2017 is now open! WasteExpo offers a variety of registration packages tailored to meet your needs (although the Premium Package delivers the most value). The earlier you register for the show, the more you save. Click here for more information!

Check out the Conference Program – WasteExpo’s Conference Program, in partnership with the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) and Dr. Stu Buckner, is designed to help you run your business or department smarter, safer and more streamlined.  View the full conference program here.

3. Book your hotel - OnPeak is the ONLY official housing partner for WasteExpo 2017. Book your hotel room now for the best selection and price.  The reservation deadline is April 14.  Make your reservations here.

4. Stay Connected - Stay connected and informed by following #WasteExpo on social media via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram throughout the show.  And use the hashtag #WasteExpo to boost the views and reach of your posts.  We look forward to engaging with you!

Once You’ve Registered:

1. Establish your Objectives and Goals - What do you want to accomplish during WasteExpo? Start by reviewing and prioritizing the education topics most important to your organization. It's the first step to planning your schedule.

2. Search and Build Agenda - The secret to feeling relaxed and organized is to build your conference agenda BEFORE you arrive in New Orleans! View the My Agenda icon on the bottom of the app glance to get started.

3. Do Your Homework - With over 600 exhibitors, it can be overwhelming once you get on the show floor. Research the exhibitors before the show so you are familiar with their products and have questions prepared to ask. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the floorplan so you know where they are located.

4. Network, Network, Network - Are you looking to bond with fellow waste and recycling colleagues or meet new industry peers?  There’s no better place to mix and mingle with colleagues, customers and friends (outside of the show floor) than at the Welcome Reception, otherwise known as the waste, recycling and organic industry’s reunion. So if you haven’t purchased a ticket yet, you’ll want to. The Welcome Reception will take place on Monday, May 8, 6:30pm-9:30pm at the distinctive Generations Hall in downtown New Orleans.

5. International Attendee? -  Looking to do business with U.S. companies? We can help you! WasteExpo has partnered with the U.S. Department of Commerce to help international buyers find American suppliers of quality products and services as part of the International Buyer Program. Learn more about this FREE service here.
